What is EFT Tapping?

EFT tapping is an easy, effective, noninvasive technique that can be used to restore one's health and wellness by relieving and even eliminating pain, suffering and other forms of discomfort or distress.
EFT can also be used for success in reaching goals and to enhance athletic performance.
EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques and is also referred to as "Tapping". EFT founder, Gary Craig refers to EFT as a cousin to the ancient art of Chinese Acupuncture which is a form of Oriental Medicine, founded over 2000 years ago.
How Does EFT Work?
Like acupuncture, EFT is based on the ancient wisdom that energy flows through the body, moving through 12 main channels called meridians. Each meridian is associated with a major organ in the body.
An Acupuncturist inserts very fine needles (each needle being the thickness of a human hair) at the meridian points, to stimulate and balance the energy system.
However, EFT is a self help tool that does not involve the use of needles but rather, gentle tapping on the meridian points.
EFT is based on the understanding that when we experience any kind of distress (in the present moment or as a memory), it disrupts our body's energy system. Hence the Discovery Statement that EFT stems from: "The cause of all negative emotions is a disruption
in the body's energy system."
To better understand this, imagine a garden hose that has a kink in it. Due to the kink, the water flow in the hose slows down is reduced to a trickle. We can compare this to our energy system. When something happens in our life that causes us distress, it creates a "kink" or blockage in our energy system, greatly restricting the flow of energy.
Why is restricted energy a problem? Obstructed energy flow has nowhere to go, like the water backed up in a hose. The "pressure" of the blocked energy can lead to physical ailments as well as mental, spiritual or emotional discord which limits our overall heath and well being.
While tapping, a person focuses on a specific issue that they want to heal/release. This focused attention and the gentle EFT tapping on the body's meridian points, helps to stimulate and balance the energy pathways.
As a result, energy begins to flow more freely again, positively influencing our health and well being.
When we are experiencing discord in our life, EFT can help us to identify and heal the root of the problem.
EFT tapping produces long lasting and often permanent relief in a matter of minutes. However, some issues that may be deeply rooted may take longer to resolve but with persistence, relief will come.
